The movement of a pencil, piece of charcoal, or pastel in my hand allows me to imagine the creativity flowing from my mind straight down onto the paper.  I enjoy the ability to have full control over the image being sketched or drawn.  My imagined realities can be altered by one movement of an eraser; this freedom allows for full expression.

I have always favored charcoal over other mediums, but over the years have experimented more with pastel and colored pencils. I prefer chalk pastel to oil; imagine it just like sidewalk chalk. The consistency is about the same, but the pieces are much smaller. I find that drawings of any kind require a setting agent. I prefer to use hairspray, but there are products on the market that have the same effect. Below you are able to see my work in marker, colored pencil, graphite pencil, charcoal, and pastel.
