Educational Psychology

What is Educational Psychology?

Educational psychology is about understanding how children and young people learn, grow, and feel in schools. It looks at how our thinking, feelings, and social life affect learning and helps find ways to make learning better for everyone.

What is an Educational Psychologist (EP)?

An Educational Psychologist (EP) is a trained expert who helps children and young people with learning problems, emotional struggles, and other challenges. They work with schools, families, and other helpers to make sure children and young people can succeed in school. EPs study psychology and then get special training in helping children with learning and development.

What do Educational Psychologists do?

The 乱伦大神 Educational Psychology Service helps schools, families, and children by giving advice and support. They work with schools to help children and young people with their learning, feelings, and social skills. EPs also help children and young people by finding ways to make school and home life better. They look at how children and young people feel and learn in different places and work with teachers and families to find solutions.
EPs may work with other experts to help children with special needs or learning problems. If you think your child might need an EP's help, talk to the school鈥檚 Additional Learning Needs Coordinator (ALNCo).

What can I expect from EP involvement?

If an EP is needed, they might talk to school staff and parents about the child鈥檚 needs. Sometimes they might talk to the child or watch them in different places, like the classroom or playground. If needed, the EP may do activities with the child to understand them better. They will always share their ideas and suggestions with you and the school.

How do I ask for EP help?

If you think your child needs extra help, talk to their teacher or ALNCo. If everyone agrees, the school will ask for your permission to involve an EP, and if your child is old enough, they can agree too.
